By ASST CHIEF CHRISTOPHER BLOCKMAN
July 21, 2018

On 7/21/2018 at about 1430 hours Fort Jones Fire Department along with Cal Fire, Etna Ambulance and the USFS responded to Kangroo Lake for a report of a male who fell from the rocks approximately 60 feet. Rescuers arrived and administered care. A CHP helicopter was used to hoist the victim from there location to a nearby Medical Helicopter for advanced care and was later flown to a Northern California Hospital for treatment. Great Job to all responding agencies.

A reminder please be safe in remote locations and please carry a first aid kit and seek medical training if you are choosing to venture into the beautiful remote locations of Siskiyou County. Please be safe.
