On 7/23/2018 Fort Jones Fire Department responded Immediate need to the Carr Fire in Redding California. Shortly after we also sent one person for an overhead assignment on the Carr Fire. Fort Jones Firefighters have been working diligently on this fire which has claimed several lives and consumed hundreds of homes. Vehicle accident with two injuries causing vehicle fire which spread to vegitation

On 7/22/2018 at about 0130 hours Fort Jones Fire Department was dispacthed to a vehicle accident with fire spreading into the vegetation located at Main Street and Eastside Road in the City Limits of Fort Jones.

ASST CHIEF CHRISTOPHER BLOCKMAN, July 21

On 7/20/2018 at about 2250 hours Fort Jones Fire Department, Cal Fire and Siskiyou County Sheriff's Search and Rescue were dispatched to Paynes Lake in the Russian Wilderness of the Klamath National Forest for an injured Hiker who suffered a head injury. Rescuers Reached the injured hiker at about 0300 hours located an adequate location to land a helicopter and later moved the victim to the landing ... (Full Story & Photos)

High Mountain Rescue

ASST CHIEF CHRISTOPHER BLOCKMAN, July 21

On 7/21/2018 at about 1430 hours Fort Jones Fire Department along with Cal Fire, Etna Ambulance and the USFS responded to Kangroo Lake for a report of a male who fell from the rocks approximately 60 feet. Rescuers arrived and administered care. A CHP helicopter was used to hoist the victim from there location to a nearby Medical Helicopter for advanced care and was later flown to a Northern California ... (Full Story & Photos)
